★★★★★ This is indeed a beautiful community. With an Imam that won't just focus on issues across the Alantic! He instead deals with the concerns and challenges facing African American Muslims & Muslims living in America in general.Plus they have a great halal restaurant next door! ★★★★★ For Hyde park Muslims masjid al-Ihsan is the place to be. It's small and crowded but you feel like your surrounded by real people. The imam consistently gives excellent khutbahs that are relevant to our life as Americans in the the big city. Posted on November 5, 2011 |

★★★★★ While lacking in the size that marks other Chicago masjids, this masjid has true heart and community. Steps away from the L train, Masjid Ihsan is a clean well-kept masjid which hides a secret: this is the home masjid of Chicago-legend Imam Abdullah Yusuf Madyun. While he is in great demand all over Chicagoland and at conventions, this is where he can most often be found delivering amazing khutbahs. The community is tightly-knit and engages in many charity projects such as providing meals to the less-fortunate on Saturdays. Posted on March 9, 2009 |
