★★★★★ Zaytuna College is not yet an accredited university in the United States, but InshaAllah it will happen soon. They started the college in 2010 and have Arabic and Islamic Studies classes. A great endeavor by Shaykh Hamza Yusuf, Imam Zaid Shakir, Prof. Hatem Bazian and others.
★★★★★ Zaytuna started back in '96 in a tiny little building in a neighborhood in Hayward. I have attended many seminars and been to many events here. I am happy to see they that have now become an accredited Academic University and are still a madrasa like before -- the first American Madrasa. I like the programs and services they offer to both the Muslims, and for the non-Muslim community, such as classes and other dawah services. It is a wonderful institute of knowledge and learning with very well renounced scholars.
★★★★★ This is definitely the spot to bring your Non Muslim coworkers and friends. Introduce them to Brother Usama Canon.
This is truly an inspiring institute with some of the most motivating and influential scholars in the western world mashAllah.
I personally would not classify Zaytuna as a "sufi" masjid. It's a very traditional Islamic sunni learning institute and one only needs to take a few fiqh classes there to see how traditionally sunni this institute is.
